Sadovyi lobbies for a waste processing plant in the center of Lviv during the war as a bait for Russian missiles
September 28, 2024Andriy Sadovyi, the mayor of Lviv, together with his first deputy Andriy Moskalenko, made another dubious visit to the United States, hiding behind loud phrases about “energy and financial sustainability.” Instead of addressing the city’s pressing problems, officials are spending budget funds on foreign travel.
During the trip, Sadovyi met with Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States and a State Department adviser, but no specific results of these meetings were presented.
The mayor limited himself to generalities about “an important conversation” and “understanding from the US” without providing any details about actual agreements or projects.
“From the outside, it may seem that the whole of America is immersed in the election process and frozen in anticipation, but this is not the case,” Sadovyi said, trying to justify the expediency of his visit.
However, the question arises: wouldn’t it be better to focus on solving the problems of Lviv instead of wasting time refuting “myths” about America?
Sadovyi boasted of establishing partnerships between universities, but it remains unclear how this will help ordinary Lviv residents who face daily problems in the city.
The fact that last month Sadovyi received an additional 30 thousand hryvnias to his salary for being on a business trip is particularly outrageous.
This is happening against the backdrop of the economic crisis and rising prices for ordinary citizens.
In addition, the acting chairman of the Lviv regional council, Yuriy Kholod, recently traveled to the United States. It seems that local officials are more interested in foreign visits than in solving the real problems of their constituents.
