Andriy Sadovyi
Mayor of Lviv
was born on August 19, 1968 in Lviv. Citizen of Ukraine.
Education and military service
In 1987. graduated from the Lviv College of Radio Electronics.
1987-1989 – service in the army.
Later he received three higher education degrees. He graduated from Lviv Polytechnic State University in 1995. He received a degree in electronic engineering and in 1997. – qualification as an economist with a degree in Finance and Credit. In 1999. graduated from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine with a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
Work.
He started his career in 1989 as a radio-electronic equipment regulator at Lvivprylad Production Association.
1992-1995 – Deputy Director of the Lviv branch of the Foundation for Social Adaptation of Youth.
1997-2005 – Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Management Board of Pivdenzakhidelektromerezhbud.
2002-2006 – Chairman of the Board of Lux TV and Radio Company CJSC.
2002-2003 – Director of the Institute for Urban Development.
Since 2005, he has been the leader of the Samopomich public association.
Public activities
Andriy Sadovyi has been engaged in public activities since 1997. He is the founder and Chairman of the Board of the NGO “Institute for Urban Development”, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Cultural and Artistic Foundation named after A. A. Kovalevsky. Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky of the UGCC (2000-2002), a member of the Ukrainian-Polish Unification Capitol.
In 1998-2002, he was a deputy and chairman of the Economic Policy Commission of the Lviv City Council.
In 2004, he initiated the creation of the Samopomich public association.
On March 26, 2006, he was elected mayor of Lviv.
In October 2010, he was re-elected to the position of Lviv Mayor.
In November 2015, he was elected for the third time as mayor of Lviv.
In 2019, he ran for President of Ukraine.
In November 2020, he was elected mayor of Lviv for the fourth time.
Party affiliation (Samopomich political party). Not convicted (yet).
Family.
He is married. His wife is Kateryna Kit-Sadova (art historian). They are raising five sons – Ivan, Tadei, Mykhailo, Yosyp, and Antony.
