18 years of self-praise: Andriy Sadovyi continues to play political games
September 8, 2024Lviv residents are once again forced to pay for the financial adventures of Mayor Andriy Sadovyi.
According to his order of August 28, published on the city council’s website, the city has to transfer another UAH 13,076,923.08 to Ukreximbank.
This is the fifth installment of the astronomical debt of 170 million hryvnias that Sadovyi has “hung” on the city.
Every few months, Lviv residents are forced to pay back more than UAH 13 million instead of spending this money on the city’s urgent needs.
It is worth recalling that this debt is only part of a large-scale loan of 390 million hryvnias that Sadovyi took out in May 2021.
At that time, the mayor “forked over” 220 million from Ukrgasbank and 170 million from Ukreximbank.
A natural question arises: where do these huge sums go and why does the city continue to drown in debt under Sadovyi’s leadership?
The regularity of the payments only emphasizes how deeply the mayor has driven Lviv into a financial hole from which it now has to get out at the expense of the citizens.
