Zenoviy Siryk: “Sadovyi will sell both his mother and the devil to make a deal with any current government”
June 27, 2024Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi is caught up in another corruption scandal, this time involving the Ukrainian military. The journalists were interested in the fate of UAH 20 million that, on Sadovyi’s initiative, was allocated to the Navy in December 2023. And it looks like they were thrown away literally, with unanswered requests from the military from various units that constantly need FPV drones and other equipment to repel Russian aggression.
As journalists found out, the Lviv City Council, in which the majority of deputies are controlled by Sadovyi, allocated UAH 20 million at the December session, allegedly for the needs of the Navy, but this allocation was not explained in the documents for the session by any specific request from the Navy – only by Sadovyi’s oral statement.
Journalists believe that Sadovyi used old requests from the Navy for assistance in restoring the 1980s Druzhba sailing frigate, which is actually a tourist ship and is idle in the port of Odesa, to allocate UAH 20 million from the Lviv budget. This vessel cannot be used in any way to participate in the war against the Russian occupiers, and the allocation of funds for new sails and equipment during the war looks like a mockery of the Armed Forces units, which Sadovyi refused to help, ignoring their real requests.
For sails and equipment for the Druzhba frigate, which cannot be used in the war with Russia. At the same time, the military’s really necessary requests were ignored.

It is worth noting that the equipment for Druzhba was proposed to be purchased at prices that were 2-4 times too high. Now Sadovyi cannot explain exactly what the allocated funds were used for. They drowned in the Lviv Sea along with ignored requests from military units.
So friendship with whom is promoted by the name of the frigate Druzhba is a rhetorical question.
