Recently, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi has been actively engaged in international activities, officially announced as a search for investment. He recently visited Canada, and before that he was in Korea, England, and the Baltic States. Sadovyi, as it became known, manages his investments and the deposits handled by his eldest son, investing in various projects. According to media reports, Sadovyi also has significant funds in Canadian accounts and is trying to resolve the issue to avoid being identified as a politically exposed person (PEP) under Ukrainian law. The situation is further complicated by the interest of Western partners and Ukrainian anti-corruption agencies in the finances of Ukrainian officials.
It is possible that Sadovyi is seeking to transfer his funds to other currencies to avoid their seizure, especially given his 17 years of experience in managing the city of Lviv.
