Another lie from Sadovyi: Lviv mayor did not plan to give 2 billion from the city budget for the needs of the Armed Forces

The “eternal” mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, was criticized after he announced his readiness to allocate part of the personal income tax for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Oleksiy Riznyk, a lawyer and chairman of the Architecture, Urban Planning and Territorial Development Commission of the Lviv City Council, called the statement cynical disinformation in a post on Facebook.

“Andriy Ivanovych, when did you plan to allocate 2 billion, most of which is on interest-bearing deposits? You hadn’t even considered it in March. In general, maybe you should stop fooling people. There are not so many “suckers” among Lviv residents! The vote when Lviv deputies allocated 2 billion hryvnias for “paving stones and trees” instead of allocating them for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will remain on the conscience of every deputy who supported this decision,” wrote MP Riznyk.

Sadovyi’s post, in which he announced his intention to allocate 2 billion for the needs of the Armed Forces, provoked a reaction from Riznyk.

“This is all a manifestation of cynicism, but the lie is as follows: today the mayor published a post on his telegram channel in which he said he plans to allocate 2 billion hryvnias to support the army. In general, Lviv is ready to share part of its personal income tax with the state if these funds help defeat the enemy,” Riznyk wrote.

However, Riznyk also recalled that Sadovyi had long blocked any initiatives to allocate funds from the city budget for the needs of the Armed Forces.

“At the beginning of March 2023, when the Lviv City Council was considering the development budget for the Lviv UTC, I submitted a proposal to the council to pay off all the city’s debts to entrepreneurs in the amount of about UAH 300 million and allocate the remaining funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At that time, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi sarcastically called my proposal emotionally interesting and at the same time incomprehensible,” the MP added.
