550 thousand US dollars: how a resident of Sokilnyky village, under the guise of Lviv mayor, is trying to pull off a land scam

Godfather or business partner? Interesting details about the deputy mayor and a million-dollar tender were revealed in Lviv
June 11, 2025Starting June 1, public transportation fares in Lviv will increase. And while residents are counting every hryvnia, the city hall continues to spend millions on business trips and allowances for officials.
The new tariffs have already caused a wave of outrage. From now on, holders of the LeoCard transport card will pay 18 hryvnias instead of 14. For those who pay with a bank card, the price will increase from 15 to 20 hryvnias. Students will pay 10 hryvnias instead of 8. Lviv transportation has become the most expensive in Ukraine.
At the same time, the city’s budget is receiving significant funds for the needs of officials. Only recently, the city authorities received UAH 733 thousand for business trips. In total, since the beginning of the year, more than 1.5 million hryvnias have been spent on travel for the mayor and his team. In addition, Andriy Sadovyi received 840 thousand hryvnias of “one-time assistance” in addition to the almost three million he had already distributed.
Civic activists call this outright cynicism. Many believe that the city authorities collect money from residents and immediately spend it on themselves. It is not about supporting important areas, but about personal trips and payments.
“They collected more from people and immediately gave it to themselves. Not from their own pockets, but from the one they had just emptied,” the NoMer Telegram channel comments on the situation.
The city is increasingly saying that the current authorities are simply squeezing Lviv’s resources before completing their term. The city council itself has already been accused of losing touch with reality and indifference to the daily problems of Lviv residents.
