March 30, 2024According to the press service, the Human Resources Department of the Lviv City Council, together with the Ethics Sector, has begun a thorough audit of the staff of the Department of Historic Environment Protection.
Sadovyi announced this on March 20 during a meeting and emphasized that all employees must be assessed for their suitability to work in local government. Those who do not meet the requirements of their positions will be replaced. He considers the events of the last few days shameful and emphasizes that it is a shame for the Lviv City Council.
Lilia Savych, Head of the Human Resources Department, explained that her colleagues will audit the HR processes and conduct interviews with each employee of the Department of Historic Environment Protection, which will involve ethics experts.
“Given the second case of corruption confirmed by the relevant authorities, we are obliged to check the competence of all employees of the Department of Historic Environment Protection. Based on the results of the audit, we will apply appropriate sanctions,” Savich said.
She added that professional team members who were not involved in ethical violations would remain in their positions.
As a reminder, on March 19, law enforcement agencies detained Oleh Khandyn, an employee of the city’s Historic Environment Protection Department, who was suspected of receiving an illegal benefit. The Lviv City Council promises to cooperate with the investigation and expresses gratitude to the Security Service for their assistance in this case.
